How Do Online Casino Games Work?
Developing online casino games is a multi-billion dollar industry.
You might think that online casinos make their own games, but this is not the case. There’s a few dozen companies in the world that develop real-money games. Online casinos then choose their games from these companies and there’s only a couple of gaming sites, like PartyCasino that have proprietary games.
Some of the game developers you run into at online casinos include Microgaming, Netent, Thunderkick, Yggdrasil, Evolution Gaming and others. These giant companies pour millions into the games they develop. That’s why they look fantastic and have realistic animations that make you feel like like you were in a real casino.
You’ll find two kinds of games online: simulated and live.
Simulated games, which are more common, feature computer graphics and operate based on random number generators. The most common simulated games are, of course, slot machines. Simulated games play fast and you can try them for free.
Live games are captured at a studio with cameras and streamed to the device you’re playing on. They are operated by real people and played exactly as you’d play them at your local casino (except, of course, betting is done by clicking/tapping the screen).
Evolution Gaming provides live casinos for most of the online casino outfits in Canada. They bring to table a thrilling live casino atmosphere with live dealers and croupiers. You can see the bets being placed, cards being dealt and roulette spun. You are also able to chat with the dealers if you wish. The best part is you don’t have to go anywhere – just relax and spice things up a bit. Therefore, an online live casino is the closest to Las Vegas experience you can get from your living room.
Strategy Tips And Hints
We’ve covered each major casino game Canadians love to play. In our slots, Roulette, Blackjack, video poker and Baccarat sections you will find plenty of strategy advice you can use for your benefit. Most of the games have its optimal strategy to push the house edge as low as possible. This means that you win more … or at least need less luck to win.
You will find more strategy and analysis from the pages mentioned above, but here are few tidbits which will help your game:
- Slots strategy: Bet the minimum on progressive jackpot games – find out what’s the lowest qualifying bet for the progressive jackpot, bet that and you’ll give yourself a better shot at winning it all.
- Blackjack strategy: Don’t take insurance. Never. It’s designed to increase house edge so never take it. Also, always stand on 17 and never split picture cards or tens.
- Live gaming: Card counting isn’t effective when playing at an online live casino. The live casinos shuffle the deck so often that it becomes irrelevant to keep count of which cards are dead.
- Baccarat strategy: Never bet on a tie. It’s a suicide maneuver because the house edge is at its biggest when you bet on a tie. It may work now and then by chance, but in the long run, you are destined to lose your money – and fast.
When you abide by the optimum strategies and grab the casino bonuses offered by Canada-friendly casinos, your upside will see a huge increase. Especially when playing jackpot slots, you should be aware at all times what the bet needs to be to qualify for the progressive jackpot. Another small thing to note: You shouldn’t trust Martingale strategy in Roulette.
As one of the most important things, though, remember that it’s always easier to play with the optimum strategy when you’re sober. If you’ve downed a mickey or a casual two-four, you may want to find something else to do. A couple of Molson’s are excellent to loosen up the mood, but when your judgement gets too clouded, it could prove costly when you wake up the next morning.
Questions & Answers
Ask anything and our casino game experts will find you the answer, email email@example.com.
You’ll find game-specific, in-depth Q&A from each games’ own page. These questions and answers are about casino gaming in general. Here’s some more generic questions we’ve received.
Q&A: Understanding The Games
What does payout/odds 3 to 1 mean?
Casino games often announce their winnings as “odds of 3:1” or “payout 3:1”. Read this as “you win this much:if you bet this much”. In addition you’ll get your bet back.
So to arrive at the sum you’re going to win do this: divide the left hand number with the right hand number, multiply the result with your wager and finally add the original wager. This sounds overly complicated, but it’s pretty easy when you get the hang of it.
- Example: 1:
You play a game with a 1:1 payout. You bet $5 and win. You’ll now get: your $5 back + $5 in winnings = $10
- Example 2:
You play a game with a 3:1 payout. You bet $5 and win. You’ll now get: your $5 bet back + $15 in winnings = $20.
- Example 3:
You play a game with a 3:2 payout. You bet $10 and win. You’ll now get: your $10 bet back + $15 in winnings = $25.
- Example 4:
You play a game that offers 25:1 odds. You bet $10 and win. You’ll now get: your $10 bet back + $250 in winnings = $260
Which casino game has the best odds of winning?
Out of these three games (Blackjack, Baccarat, video poker) only Baccarat can be played without in-depth strategy knowledge. So if you’re looking for good odds of winning in a casual game, play Baccarat.
What is the most mathematically beatable game in a casino?
That would be video poker. Some video poker games have close, or even over, 100% return rate (no house edge). However, to get anywhere near this return you need to be a true video poker professional and know the correct strategies inside and out.
What is the most successful method of cheating at casinos?
The most successful method of casino cheating is post betting. Post betting is altering the size of your bet after you know the result of the game (so where the ball lands in Roulette, for example).
Now, of course casinos know that players try to alter their bets after the fact. It doesn’t take a genius to try to slip in an extra chip after seeing what the result is.
The truly, insanely clever twist on post betting is making your bet smaller, not bigger Here’s how it works:
Place a stack of chips on a bet (like black on Roulette). Make sure that the stack consists of many small chips and one big one so that the big one is at the bottom (example: $20, $20, $20, $1000). Place the small chips on the stack so that they are a bit closer to the croupier, making it difficult for him to see the bottom chip.
If you lose with this $1060 stack, act as if you’re pulling all of them away from the table. Make a big show of this, like “you’re cheating, I’m getting my money and going home!” Now the croupier gets involved demanding you place the bet back and you, seemingly against your will, place back your stack of four $20 chips… So while the commotion was going on, you swapped the $1000 chip with a $20 chip! If you did this correctly, the croupier doesn’t notice anything weird as he was expecting four $20 chips.
If your bet wins, don’t do anything out of the ordinary. If you don’t get paid correctly, just point out to the croupier that you bet $1060. The floor manager will probably get involved, but now comes the beautiful part: the floor manager checks this table’s security camera footage and what does he see? He sees you placing $1060 on the table and not touching the stack afterwards. Clearly you weren’t cheating!
Of course, all this information is for your entertainment only.
Q&A: Gambling on The Internet
What is the best game to play at the casino to win money?
Casino games should be played for fun and excitement, as you can’t guarantee that you’ll win. If you’re looking for a chance to win big and don’t mind if you happen to lose, one option is to play jackpot slots with small stakes. This way you’ll get to play many, many rounds for a real chance of potentially winning millions. Of course the odds of this happening are low, but the chance is always there.
What casino apps pay real money?
Canada-based gamblers can’t download real-money casino apps. This is because both Google (Google Play) and Apple (Apple App Store) only feature real-money gambling apps in the UK and couple of other countries and not Canada.
However, you can still play real-money gambling games with your cell phone or tablet. Head on over to one of our recommended casinos and you’ll find that gambling directly at the website is equally easy and fast as playing with an app.
What game pays out the most at a casino?
If “most” means “most money” then it’s jackpot slots. They often have progressive jackpots that reach millions or even tens of millions of Canadian dollars.
What are the best odds in a casino?
There are two bets you can make at a casino that don’t have a house edge at all. These two bets are:
- Taking the odds in Craps
- Doubling up in video poker
While doubling up is a standard feature in video poker games, Craps tables don’t usually even show the option of taking the odds. To make this bet, place your chips between the edge of the table and pass line before the shooter rolls the dice. You can make this bet both off-line and online in the same way.
What are casino bonuses?
Casino bonuses are promotions run by internet gambling sites. They offer something extra, like free spins or more money to gamble with, either for free or in exchange for making a qualifying deposit.
It’s highly recommended to take full advantage of bonuses, as a good one will give you hundreds of extra dollars to gamble with. At Casinogames.ca our bonus section lists the latest promotions from reputable online casinos. If you’d like to get even more information about latest casino promotions, then visiting a more bonus oriented website like Bonus.ca is highly recommended.
What we’ve done differently from any other Canadian gambling guide is that we’ve hand picked the best casinos for every game category. For example, LeoVegas bonus is our favourite for Live Casino and slots, Bodog casino is the best for table games and they provide Canadian players with excellent Baccarat action and so on.
By taking advantage of the offers, we list you’ll get more for your money to play with. A good deposit bonus will double or triple your money and give free spins on top, so browsing through the offers category by category is a great idea. All casinos featured on our online casinos section are suitable for Canadian players: they enable you to play in Canadian dollars, have toll-free numbers for customer support, and support the most popular payment methods like Interac and eCheck.
We will also update our game selection, and we are building a section to our site with gameplay videos, big wins and also free slots and video poker. What could be sweeter than huge wins, eh?
